ReplyDelete3. 125 divided by 5/2 = 125*2/5=50 (Ans.)
Delete4. Perimeter of the wheel= 2πr = 45000/4000 =45/4
Deleter = 45/4 *7/44 = 1.78
6. Let two numbers are x and y.
ReplyDeleteAccording to question, (x + 1)/(y + 1) = 3/4 -----(1)
(x - 5)/(y - 5) = 7/10 -----(2)
Solve two equations, get x = 26 and y = 35
Method- 2
Go through options, get answer easily.
(26 + 1)/(35 + 1) = 27/36 = 3/4
And, (26 - 5)/(35 - 5) = 21/30 = 7/10
14. Let length = l, breadth = b
ReplyDeleteArea = lb
According to question, l1= l + l×60/100 = 8l/5
Breadth = b1
New area = l1 × b1 = 8l/5 × b1
Now, lb = 8l/5 × b1
b1 = 5b/8
%decrease = (b - 5b/8)/b × 100 = 3/8 × 100 = 75/8%
17. Simply do, SI = Ptr/100
ReplyDeleteso, P = SI x 100/tr = 1 x 100 / [(1/365) x 5] = 7300
Let original price of rice = x, quantity = y
ReplyDeleteAccording to question, xy = 385 -----(1)
Then, new price after reduction of 20% = 0.8x and new quantity = y + 3.5
so, 0.8x(y + 3.5) = 385
0.8xy + 0.8x X 3.5 = 385
0.8 X 385 + 0.8x X 3.5 = 385
On calculation, x = 27.5
